Held at the Apex Gallery, the exhibition will feature images from some of the area’s finest amateur photographers. Sampling the range of themes and subjects explored during the course of the society’s annual programme, the exhibition is a celebration of the excellent work of the society’s members.

Deliberately not curated in any way, the result is a collection of images covering a great variety of subjects, genres and styles, all chosen by the individual members themselves. Expect to see everything from nature to sports photography, portraits, landscapes and even some abstract works.

With 63 high quality printed photographs on display, accompanied by hundreds of further images displayed on a rolling showreel on a large TV display, the exhibition makes a great talking point for patrons enjoying interval drinks during evening events at the Apex.

For anyone looking to purchase one of the images, mounted, unframed prints of all the images are available to buy for just £30.

Who is Bury St Edmunds Photographic Society?

Previously St Margaret’s Camera Club, the BSEPS is a group of keen novice, amateur and professional photographers. Meeting once a week, the Society aims to help their members to learn more about the art of photography through practical demonstrations, competitions and lectures.

Chris Carroll-Davis, BSEPS Committee Member told us: “We have members that specialise in many different aspects of photography, with abilities and experience right across the spectrum from enthusiastic beginner through to semi-professional.”

“The exhibition is smaller than last year’s, but next year we already have the entire space booked so it will be our biggest ever exhibition.”

David Burr specialise in unique and interesting properties in Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex

As a locally based estate agent, we actively try to give back to the local community and are pleased to be providing a Jessops gift voucher to the favourite photograph at the exhibition. This should add an interesting twist to the launch evening on Thursday 19th July.

Previously this year, we have sponsored a point-to-point race day at Horseheath as well as local fetes and events, all on top of our ongoing support of the Suffolk Show.
