 Meet the directors
Welcome to our latest edition of Rooftops magazine, and we trust that you and your families are safe and well. In our previous issue we discussed the surge of movers from urban areas to the countryside, as working from home became normal practice for the vast majority of people during the lockdowns. Eighteen months have now passed since the first lockdown, and the housing market continues to break records in an unprecedented manner, something we have been fortunate to benefit from in rural Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire.
Working from home is now the norm for many industries, meaning families who have previously been tied to corporate offices in London, Cambridge, and Chelmsford are able to move further afield, enjoying the attractive comparable value our area offers. With the stamp duty holidays behind us, the market will most likely start to cool over the coming months, but demand will remain high as new purchasers follow the glowing recommendations of friends and family who have recently settled in the area.
Never before has it been so important to have such a wide spread of linked offices, we often find a purchaser will register their requirements with a David Burr office in Essex, only to purchase a property in Norfolk through another branch of David Burr. It has become increasingly clear that covering a wide area and working as a cohesive team is paramount to success.
The lettings market has also benefited from this migration, as people ‘try’ an area before they purchase. This has seen demand for quality rental property outstripping supply.
We are very positive about 2022 and if you are thinking of selling, letting, or are just seeking professional property advice, then please do consider David Burr.
