options, a nourishing Full English (complete with white pudding if you want it) and an abundance of cereal and fruit was unmissable. I don’t think I’ve seen a nicer array of breakfast goodies.
After shopping and sightseeing we had an excellent lunch in the 108 Brasserie - a buzzing place to eat, (the two indiscreet recruitment agency ladies on a nearby table were especially good value) wherever we looked people were chatting and tucking into beautifully presented food.
First up were ‘Burrata, seasonal tomatoes, pesto and seeded crackers’ plus a superfood salad. Then came grilled organic salmon fillet, herb butter and lemon with, across the table, a lovely fish and chips with tartare sauce. The desserts were glorioulsy indulgent - take a bow ‘Dark chocolate fondant, popcorn ice cream’ and ‘Chocolate and coconut panna cotta, with honeycomb’. There isn’t space for tasting notes but this was one of the most memorable lunches I’ve had for years.
