In The Home:
Once organised place into named files.
Sort out kitchen cupboards and drawers: Check all food items and their expiry dates, throw out expired goods. Recycle or throw away damaged or stained Tupperware, cutlery, plates, bowls and cups. If you are now preparing meals for the occasional social gathering or family get togethers (rather than mass catering) it’s time to clear the decks. Donate unwanted pots, pans and crockery sets to your local charity shop.
There can be benefits to re-organising and reducing your wardrobe. Put clothes into colour or occasion order to be able to see items more clearly and then pull out all clothes and accessories you no longer enjoy wearing, or have gone out of fashion. If good enough to resell you can earn some extra money by selling on eBay or Gumtree, for example. Alternatively charity shops may accept some items.
Minimalism isn’t for everyone but keeping your living room area clutter free can be a good idea. Do you still need certain accessories? Decide on your absolute favourites and choose to sell, donate or recycle the rest. Put clever storage solutions into place by investing in an Ottoman or a good shelf system. Maybe those house plants have grown a little too big, or are past their best?
