The youngest member of our board of directors, Lewis’ career started in the legal sector, reading Law at university, and establishing a good client base before joining David Burr and realising his passion for selling country homes. Having made a name for himself as a leading agent in the Bury St Edmunds market, Lewis represents clients in town and the outlying villages with an emphasis on always delivering exceptional advice and service. Christina joined David Burr in April 2016 and is a highly valued member of the team due to her connections, friendly nature and rapport based approach. Christina proudly shows our properties on a regular basis and is known for her local knowledge, having lived in Bury St Edmunds for much of her life. The longest serving member of the David Burr team, Steven joined the company in 1998 having been headhunted from a successful local corporate firm. Steven considers himself very fortunate to have worked for most of his career alongside the company founder David Burr. He is particularly pleased that the traditional values centred around best practice that were so important to David in those early years are still very much evident throughout the company today. Tim joined the company in 2002, originally working from the Long Melford office, he has been based in Castle Hedingham since 2003 and is responsible for the running of the business and all other related matters. She has come to us from a career in international customer service, and most recently as a secretary for a local property development company, so is perfectly placed here at David Burr. A member of NAEA Nick has been with the company since 2003 having moved back to the area from Canary Wharf, Nick now lives in the Suffolk countryside with his wife and daughter spending the majority of his free time walking his Cocker Spaniel Woody as well as cycling and running. In his younger years Matthew trained as a Quantity Surveyor although after careful consideration made the decision to pursue a career in Residential property. Having worked within the property sector for over a decade Matthew has experience in both Cambridge City Centre, wider Cambridgeshire and predominantly Suffolk markets having been with David Burr since 2014. Matthew has lived in Suffolk all his life and now resides on the Suffolk/Cambs border; in his spare time Matthew coaches junior football locally and the rest of his time is spent enjoying family life. Gareth is the newest member of our team in the Clare office, assuming responsibility for much of the initial engagement with clients and buyers alike. Gareth made the move into property after a fifteen-year career in advertising and marketing which took him around the world, residing in London, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Montana and New Zealand. A Branch Manager and member of the NAEA at the age of 23, Jack has been with the company since 2010 since obtaining his BA (Hons) in Contemporary History. With over a decade of experience valuing individual village and country homes, Jack is a familiar face within the locality and well regarded for his work with listed buildings, development opportunities and the conversion of agricultural buildings with many retained clients operating on the Suffolk/Essex border and Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Suffolk born and bred, Jack resides in Long Melford with his wife and twin daughters with his spare time spent running, reading and trying to moderate his temperament on the 5 a side football pitch. Julian has spent his working life in a customer-facing environments incorporating sales and training roles. After leaving the insurance industry he has worked within estate agency for the last 19 years, managing the Hadleigh office for a large nationwide agency and as Branch Manager at David Burr for the last five years. He prides himself on providing excellent customer service and going the extra mile for his clients, providing a calming influence for clients, purchasers, tenants and colleagues alike. One of life’s pragmatic, reasonable characters, Julian is regularly commended on his integrity, breadth of knowledge and experience in overseeing the day to day running of all aspects of estate agency.

Martina brings 15 years of estate agency experience to the team, very well regarded within the region for her tenacity, passion and ceaseless levels of motivation to extract the most productivity possible from a days work. An early morning starter, Martina keeps an organised schedule for the team and with the phone regularly glued to her ear, is one of the David Burr group’s most prolific viewing generators. Highly self-motivated with a determined passion for the industry, clients are in safe hands with one of the company’s most consistently strong operators.

The level of drive and commitment shown on a daily basis is in part due to Martina’s time as co-owner of a jewellery shop in Colchester which she ran alongside her husband. With three grown up children and Milo the golden retriever, Martina can be found enjoying long walks with her family and dog, swimming, travelling, upcycling old furniture and enjoying the occasional trip to London for a show and a meal.
