The property has undergone a thorough programme of renovation and is offered with stylish traditional-style fittings with a contemporary edge. A sitting room with hessian flooring overlooks the cottage’s front garden with a central fireplace with an electric faux-wood burning stove and a smart TV. A newly installed kitchen contains everything needed for a comfortable stay as well as a dining table which extends to seat additional guests if required. Upstairs is a plush king bed with plenty of storage and a wonderful view over the green. A luxurious bathroom contains a panel bath and a separate shower cubicle.
Outside, the property benefits from a separate ‘wash house’ containing a washing machine and a freezer. Stepping through the wash house opens into the cottage garden which is a peaceful haven with fitted seating surrounded by greenery providing the perfect spot to unwind with a glass of wine or morning coffee. There is ample parking along the green and in the village car park a short distance away (including an EV charging station).
Long Melford offers a plethora of independent shops, cafes, pubs and facilities as well as two stately homes which are open to the public at various times of year, wonderful footpaths for dog walks (pets welcome) and easy transport links to the wider area. The equally historic village of Lavenham is a short 10-minute drive away and the market town of Sudbury and Cathedral town of Bury St Edmunds are close by too.
great place to stay. lovely cottage in an amazing location. The place was easy to find and the parking was ok.The only negative was the front and back gardens were overgrown and Ivy was growing down the wall over the front door.
The cottage was lovely, peaceful and, best of all, cool on the hottest May BH on record. Unfortunately it was slightly harder to find than we'd hoped as the 3 little words were slightly out, but a friendly neighbour put us right, as she had several before apparently. But apart from that slight hiccup the cottage is lovely.Several very nice pubs, and eating establishments, within easy walking distance. We also travelled to Sudbury & Lavenham, both 10 min drives, and lived these places too. Recommend.

Lovey spot in the village parking was a bit tricky for unloading cases . Garden was pretty and secluded but does need a little attention .

Beautiful cottage well presented with everything you need. Do be careful though if stairs are a problem for you as the stairs are very steep. There is also a uneveness of the floors given the age of the property not surprising. The step down between the Kitchen and Lounge also needs to be considered if you are less mobile and can be a trip hazard. The cottage itself is quintessential English cottage which is very tastefully restored. Great Bathroom facilities.

Perfect location, well appointed, we had a great stay. Not that private with a shared front garden path and no outside seating. Some tv noise etc from next door. But the location and great village was perfect,

This is a charming cottage which suited the two of us and the per dog. There is a very good choice of places to eat, and places of interest nearby. We would not hesitate to return.

A true delight of a cottage, right on the green opposite Melford Hall. Could not be more convenient. Recommend the Hare Inn around the corner (very dog-friendly and do a superb Sunday roast). Took the bus to Lavenham (also beautiful) and walked back. A lovely part of the world.

Spot on. Worth the money. Never felt so relaxed.

The cottage and location were perfect for a relaxed weekend. Well equipped beautifully decorated and furnished. Fantastic shower. Walkable to anywhere in Long Melford great location.
