Holiday Let
A charming period cottage with a wealth of original characterful features perfectly positioned to take full advantage of the amenities within this quaint ‘chocolate box’ Suffolk village. The property has been extensively renovated with an exacting eye for detail in a way fully sympathetic to the building’s heritage.
The interiors have been designed and furnished to provide a comfortable and relaxing stay with modern flourishes and conveniences to ensure you have everything you need to make the best of your time away. A well-equipped kitchen/breakfast room provides a range of integrated appliances including a gas hob, double oven, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. There is also a high-quality pod coffee machine, microwave, kettle, toaster and plenty of storage. A stripped pine stable door leads into a heavily timbered sitting/dining room with exposed beams and brickwork and a magnificent inglenook fireplace with a substantial bressumer beam and wood burning stove with a plentiful supply of logs for a cosy evening in. Plush sofas surround a 50-inch Samsung Smart TV and a nook nestled in one corner provides a quiet space for reading.
A further room off of the sitting/dining room is an ideal space to do some quiet work with a fitted desk and plenty of storage and charging points and an integrated Baumatic washing machine/dryer ensures your laundry needs are taken care of. A high-specification shower room contains a large walk-in shower with a waterfall-style showerhead, a fitted contemporary WC, and a large ceramic wash hand basin on a wooden surface and plenty of storage.
Upstairs, both bedrooms have been designed with comfort and luxury in mind with the master bedroom containing a king-size bed and plenty of storage for your belongings. A window overlooks the property’s front garden and out towards the open countryside. The second bedroom can be arranged as either a twin or a king-size. The double room is fitted with reading lights and charging points as well as plenty of wardrobe space. The landing is particularly large and contains a sofa bed which can cater for an additional guest if required. Outside, a lawned front garden is enclosed by a hedge and contains a dining table and chairs within the shadow of a mature silver birch tree. A driveway leads down around to the rear of the property to a private area of off-road parking for up to two cars.
2 Peacocks Leys is a perfect base from which to explore the beautiful Suffolk countryside and the wealth of attractions nearby. The pretty village of Cavendish contains three popular pubs, a wonderful village green with a tearoom nearby and a small village shop. The historic market town of Clare (the smallest town in Suffolk) is a short drive away, as is historic Long Melford with its extensive range of amenities including high-quality restaurants, grocery stores, pubs and cafes.
