Come and celebrate country life at The South Suffolk Show, Ampton point-to-point racecourse, near Bury St Edmunds (IP31 1HU), on Sunday 12th May! Make sure you pop by our stand in association with St Nicholas Hospice.

HOH Equine team will be performing in the Grand Ring with their highly skilled team of performance horses and riders, demonstrating poise and precision with an inspiring display of classical dressage, liberty, stunt and trick riding. Whilst the Shetland Pony Grand National will provide a gutsy spectacle of speed!

As always there will be plenty to see and do outside the grand ring including farriers in the forge, gun dogs working, terriers racing, farm machinery new and old, the Ferretworld Roadshow who will be looking for volunteers of all ages to race against their ferrets, and the infamous ‘Sheep Show’ with their dancing sheep! Not to mention the Art and Craft Marquee packed with unique creations, the Food Hall full of tempting treats, and sheep, pigs, cattle and horses all competing for rosettes amongst trade stands galore!

Even canine companions will be catered for with a fun dog show run by ‘Pooch’s Yard’ of Thetford, taking entries on the day and offering rosettes for the waggiest tail and shiniest coat!

And if you dare, the fun fair will be there!

Show President for this year’s 135th show is RAF Honington Station Commander Max Hayward. With over 20 years’ service in the RAF and an impressive CV of postings in addition to an MSc in Transport Planning and Management, as Show President, Flt. Lt. Stn. Cmdr. Hayward will bring a taste of the forces to the show, enhancing the link between the local rural and military communities. We are delighted to welcome Station Commander Max Hayward and his family to the South Suffolk Show.

Speaking about the 2024 show, chairman of The South Suffolk Agricultural Association Ltd, Jim Mann, advises that “our show committee have worked very hard over the last 12 months, focussing on both restructuring the equine area to provide higher quality and more spectator friendly rings, and on a multi-faceted plan to improve the efficiency of traffic flow into the show ground in order to enhance our visitors’ overall experience.”

Tickets are available on the gate from 8:30am at £18.00 per adult, £10 for children aged up to 16, and £12 for concessions, with children under 5 going free. Alternatively, a family ticket for 2 adults and up to 3 children will be available for purchase at £40. And ‘early bird’ reduced ticket offers are available through selected ticket retailers and online at www.southsuffolkshow.co.uk until 7pm on Sunday 5th May. CAR PARKING is FREE!
