A new series introducing our team giving an inside view on the property world, plus their lives and interests away from work.

This first edition features Josh from our Long Melford team:

What are you watching on television/reading at the moment?
World War II: From The Frontlines.

What do you like/or what annoys you about TV’s property/makeover shows?
Love Grand Designs but dislike the quick makeovers that, of course, won’t stand the test of time.

If you could go to any sporting event in the world what would it be?
Either the Rugby World Cup Final, if it included England or Scotland, or The Florence Calcio Storico, best described as an early form of football. I watched a documentary on it a few weeks back and it looks like the most passionate sporting event I have ever seen.

Favourite place for a day out in our region?
Had a really nice time at Hollow Trees Farm, near Hadleigh, recently which is great for the kids to see lots of farm animals, and has a lovely cafe and farm shop.

If you could spend a year living anywhere in the world where would it be?
South Asia on a beach, somewhere secluded. Thailand, Malaysia or Indonesia.

What do you love most about your job?
Meeting so many interesting people – and helping them buy or sell their home.

What’s your favourite way to spend a day off?
Playing rugby or enjoying time with the family. I do also enjoy doing some property DIY.

Favourite era/style of architecture?
Like many I love the Georgian era, and I’m drawn to properties with character and big sash windows. I also appreciate ultra-modern, individual properties with big expanses of glass and maybe off-the-grid eco homes.

What advice would you give your teenage self?
Put all your savings on Leicester to win the league 2015-16. Do what you enjoy and never concern yourself with image . . . superficial attracts superficial.

If you could trade places with anyone for a day who would it be?
My daughter, she’s three months old and I could buy into her lifestyle of eating and sleeping. It would also be interesting to understand what she’s thinking about day to day.

You are hosting a dinner party or pub meet up – which four celebs/ sports stars or historical figures would you invite?
The New Zealand filmmaker and actor/comedian Taika Waititi, the Roman emperor Caligula, Scarlett Johansson and Napoleon.

What is your guilty pleasure?
Caramac (for those not of a certain age it’s a caramel flavoured chocolate bar).
