Melford Hall

An eclectic home, with stories of naval exploits and Beatrix Potter set in picturesque gardens.

Melford Hall

Melford Hall has been home to the Hyde Parkers for almost 300 years, and the family still live in the South Wing of the Hall. Step inside to discover the long and varied history of the Hall. From the grand, wood panelled Great Hall to the the bedroom where Beatrix Potter stayed on visits (and Jemima Puddleduck can still be found to this day!), there’s so much to discover.

Enjoy a breath of fresh country air at Melford Hall, whether you enjoy a gentle stroll through the gardens or a brisk walk in the park. Discover the colours, scents and sights of the seasonal planting throughout the gardens, from bright blooms in spring, to the buzz of the colourful herbaceous borders in summer.

The tea room is open Wednesday – Sunday, serving a full selection of light lunches, including sandwiches and hot meals, homemade cakes and hot and cold drinks. Enjoy the surroundings of the Hall in the Park Room seating area, or dine al fresco with views of the lawn and Herbaceous Borders.
