Ride on the Colne Valley Railway, take a walk around the woodland area and visit the interactive museum for an exciting day out for the family.

Colne Valley Railway, a heritage railway based at Castle Hedingham station in Essex provides a fantastic day out for all the family. Visitors can ride along the railway, a 1-mile long-running line with a fully reconstructed station, signal box, and railway yard.

As well as being able to ride on a diesel or steam train there is a miniature railway with two stations and six locomotives. The ride is 750 metres long and runs on most open days weather permitting.

The Colne Valley Railway also features an interactive learning museum and a traveling post office where visitors can try their hand at sorting letters. From May to September there are some stunning walks around the woodland area.
